Adult Learners Week 2023 - It's never too late to learn something new!
Many of us dream of trying something new but somehow never seem to get around to it.
Adult Learners Week is a great chance to remind us ‘’it’s never too late to learn something new!’’
Recently, we celebrated Adult Learner’s Week at Macquarie Community College and what a buzz!
It was an amazing event held over two days at our Blacktown and Epping Campuses with an incredible turn out where adult learners were excited to try out our free taster classes and demonstrations.
Classes were available in Abstract Landscapes, Dog Communication, Flower Arrangement, Foreign Languages, Fruit & Vegetable Carving, Gentle Exercise, Guitar, Korean Brush Painting, Tarot & Oracle Card Reading, Tech Savvy Skills, Yoga and more!
Our CEO, Theresa Collignon who attended our event believes that Adult Learner’s Week is a great occasion to celebrate the Philosophy of the College, saying:
“We believe that participation in quality life-long learning is transformational”.
At Macquarie Community College, we're committed to making education accessible and inclusive. We do everything possible to keep our programs affordable so that motivated learners like you can achieve your lifelong learning goals.
There’s always something to learn – you need fresh knowledge and skills for work, for making the most of your interests and hobbies and to get a new perspective on your own ability to embrace and master a challenge.
Staying connected within your community
Lifelong learning isn't just about acquiring knowledge, it's also about forging new connections and friendships.
Whether it be an Embroidery class starting to learn how to read Tarot & Oracle cards, finishing a Fee-Free Nationally Accredited course, there are many forms of adult education available at Macquarie Community College. These courses allow you to meet new people, upskill for a new job and connect with contemporary ideas.
One of the best choices you can make if you want to start making new friends and stay in touch with the modern world is to enrol in a course that will keep you engaged, interested and connected with other keen learners that share your interests and might live nearby.
This can lead to an enriching, more self-fulfilled life. When we learn new things, we open our minds, transforming ourselves into better people and making the world a better place.
